Some photos from Băluşeni, Botoşani and Albeşti, at the 166th anniversary event of the abolition of Roma slavery.
On the 20th of February, in Botosani, the Association of Marginalized Communities, in partnership with the City Hall and the Stradivari Workshop, organized activities to mark the over 500 years in which the Roma were slaves on the Romanian soil.
Thus, they started watching a film about the liberation of the Roma, made by the National Center for Roma Culture - Romano Kher. Then, they continued with a historical incursion through the enslavement of the Roma in Romania, an artistic program presented by the group of Roma students of School no. 2, Botoșani, and a specialized workshop on discrimination and the effects of long-term racism in society.
