The "Împreună" Community Development Agency is a non-profit, apolitical, non-governmental, private law organization that was established in 1999. We strongly believe in a world in which we live together, without being afraid to let our children play with Roma just because they are Roma; we work every day to stimulate reflection, both inside and outside the Roma community, leading to a harmonious development of the society in which we live.
We are of the opinion that the study of the slavery of the Roma exceeds simple historical knowledge. It is necessary in the creation of a sense of ethnic value which leads to an improvement
of "self-esteem". Furthermore, it is an especially effective way to promote a real socio-economic inclusion of the Roma in Romania.
We aim to explain social stereotypes about Roma by explaining history and questioning current assumptions about this ethnic minority.
The goal of the course is to develop a set of educational materials, in the form of a pedagogical kit, that will provide support for the training of teachers and inform students, parents and the general public about the realities of the period of Roma enslavement in Romania and the Holocaust.
teachers receive course materials and educational material produced by our Foundation.

We consider that we, as Romanian Roma citizens, should have the same rights and obligations as everyone else; we are convinced that each of us must learn to give (information, resources, trust, etc.. ) in order to receive (development, welfare, solidarity). For all of this and much more that cannot be expressed in words, we must learn to work, live, laugh, cry, live TOGETHER.
How we can promote change among the youth and all of society has been the question that has followed us over the years.
As a result, since 2011 we have started organising a series of workshops with teachers and students on
(1) the importance of interculturality and
(2) how we can transfer the principles of diversity to the classroom.
Together with our partners we have also created a series of educational materials that can be used in the classroom.
