Founding local initiative groups
Each of the 3 partners hired a local facilitator responsible for the county: Călărași, Brăila and Constanța. The activities in the first part of the community facilitation process consist of actions to prepare the intervention, the tasks of the facilitators being to get to know the communities and then to analyse their initial stage at the beginning of the process, the objective being: to support the Roma communities in the self-organization process - identifying and prioritizing one's own needs.
Joining the community is one of the most important phases of the process, a stage in which the facilitator knows the community, contacts the stakeholders, makes the first visit from door to door.
Local Initiative Groups were established.
Discover in the video below the role that the initiative groups have in the 12 communities involved in the project 👇🏼
The first meetings of the initiative groups took place. During these meetings the facilitators aimed to convey their knowledge to the group members, following that they will take over the role of the facilitator in gradually. At this point, the process of collecting the data needed for community analysis has begun. We are in the process of identifying and prioritizing the needs of communities.
📋 The questionnaire based on the analysis is applied by the community facilitator and the members of the local initiative groups.
The tools developed will be: community profile, SWOT analysis, problem inventory.
All this will be done by the facilitator supported by the active members of the groups, conducting interviews, collecting administrative data from local institutions, organizing individual and group discussions with community members and stakeholders.
