Developing community plans action
In order to be able to establish the future directions of action taken by the local initiative groups, the needs of the community will be identified through a participatory approach. Thus, the groups will discuss with community members to understand their needs at different levels: education, health, housing, culture and identity, employment. Subsequently, these needs will be analyzed and debated during the group meetings, and for each one, points will be given regarding their urgency and relevance. At the end of the process, each community will have at least 3 priority needs.
Starting from the prioritized needs, each local group guided by the facilitator will develop a Local Action Plan that will operationalize solutions to address those needs. The plan will contain a timetable, responsibilities, the necessary budget and indicators for evaluating the activities. The plans will be presented to the local public authorities by the members of the local initiative groups during some Local Council meetings or other meetings with them.
Each local group will start implementing the local action plans, identifying complementary sources of funding for the project. Depending on the action proposed in the action plan, the members of the groups will submit formal requests and apply for different sources of funding. These groups will be supported to be formalized in an NGO.
